So now without talking more about it, let’s get started…

What is One Point Perspective In Photography?

So If you’re looking for some words or definitions to understand the meaning of 1 Point Perspective in Photography then here you go…

A drawing (or photograph) has one-point perspective when it contains only one vanishing point on the horizon line: Wiki

So that’s the simple definition that helps everyone to understand the meaning of One Point Perspective.

it is also called a Single Point Perspective.

But as a photographer, it’s easy for me to capture some example images for this composition technique instead of talking more about the definition.

so that means, let’s understand this term by some cool examples.

but, before we jump directly on to some examples of one point perspective images.

remember these simple words like vanishing point, horizon line, etc…

These words are more important than the whole definition because it’ll help you to understand this technique very clearly.

This is the cover image, which is the prime example of one point perspective.

now, let’s remember the important words which we discussed earlier.

the very first one is the vanishing point, so basically a point on the image where the 2D parallel lines in 3D space converge to a single point.

so to make it simple, as you can see that image that contains one single vanishing point ( a coin ).

So if anyone asks Where is the vanishing point located in a one point perspective image then as you can see it’s placed on the horizon lines.

and some more horizon line which slowly converges together in the middle of the image.

Examples of One Point Perspective Images

This is the simple explanation which I’m talking about…

A Stepwell

so as you can see, if you’re really interested to capture Images like this, then first you need to visualize your nearby areas.

mostly you can found this kind of perspectives on railway tracks, empty straight roads.

you can also create your own one-point perspective shots by yourself.

just make sure you have a proper visual image in your mind.

for reference check out the featured image which I capture just using my phone, on the go.

So if you’re planning to shoot a similar image like this then it’s well and good, make sure to share your images in the comment section 😀

but if you don’t know how to capture this kind of shot, or what kind of setup you need to capture one point perspective then here you go…

How to Get One Point Perspective in your Images?

As a photographer, it’s not hard to find some good places to shoot nearby.

So find some good spots which give you a good perspective which we’re talking about earlier.

you can found one point perspective almost everywhere, yeah even on the streets :D.

in the end, it’s all about your imagination.

If you’re asking me then as a photographer the very first thing which I do whenever I’m trying to shoot something is visualizing.

like what I’m going to capture and I try to imagine all the possible angles which I can use later to capture any shot.

So once I’m totally ready and prepared I just take out my camera and start shooting without wasting my time.

That’s the very first and important step that you also need to follow to capture any type of shoot, which you’re planning to shoot in the future.

Once you find any cool spot, Now it’s time to bring out your tripod.

here we’re going to use a tripod just to make sure our vanishing point, horizon lines, and the camera remain in level.

Use a bubble level to make sure everything is proper and in level.

Or you can use any steady place as a stand to get a level and stabilized shot (time-saving way).

If you don’t own a tripod then it’s fine at the end you can edit your image and set rotation to level up the image.

that’s all you need to do to capture one point perspective.

once you’re ready with your setup, it’s time to capture the shot.

Final Words

now for better clarity, when you edit your image to upload on social media make sure your composition is perfect and good to go.

So, that’s a simple but not easy way you can try to get one point perspective images without any issue.

When I started capturing these types of images, It’s quite hard for me to find the composition and all the levels.

All these images which I’ve shared in this article are capture before I was aware of one point perspective 😀

but after enough practice, now I’m ready to capture these types of images.

that’s all from my side if you like this article then don’t forget to share it with your friends 🙂
