Quarantine Photography Ideas

As you all know During the period of COVID-19, It’s very hard to find a way as a photographer to shoot something creative every single day.

especially when you can’t go out just as normal to get some bangers.

So, If I share my story during COVID-19 then I usually capture some good standard images every single week (indoor), but how?.

so for that, I need to find some good quality content on the internet or need to create one by my self, that was just my AIM.

it makes me unhappy at the weekend if I didn’t get the proper shot which I’m looking for.

but now because of this self-quarantine/isolation effect (lockdown).

we can’t able to go for an outdoor photoshoot and that’s for a good reason as we all know.

now many countries allowing people to go outside without masks as of June 2022, originally this article was published between 2020-21

that’s not good at all, because now everyone needs to create content by shooting indoor.

and as you know It’s very hard to find content in-house.

but a couple of days back I found so many unique & creative ways to do photography inhouse with some commonly available props.

so, are you guys ready to know some Quarantine photography Ideas to make your creative mind more productive?

If yes, then here are some quick and easy photography ideas you can apply during this COVID-19 period.

and improve your photography skills to another level.

Quarantine Photography Ideas To Improve Your Photography

First of all, let’s start with something which is easy to find in our house to do cool photography stuff.

1. Coins

first of all, I like coins due to their good texture so you can show some crazy details if you’re using a macro lens.

But you can use any product which you like to shoot, for this example I’m using coins.

Yeah, this is our first object, which we’re going to use and I hope it’s easily available in your house during this lockdown.

if you found some heritage coins then it’s even better, you can capture some cool macro shots.

If you’re thinking like What if I don’t have any macro lens? hmmm, that’s totally fine.

here is one perfect solution, if you own a Primary lens like 18-55mm, then here is the coolest way to convert your prime lens to a macro lens.

now you have a macro lens, so just start capturing…

there are many more ways to capture one single subject, so here you can search on the internet or try something unique by yourself.

that’s totally ok.

look what I captured…

2. A CD/DVD Caset

This is another cool and easy to find object…

I love doing reflection photography, and CD casets are one of the best ways to create an outstanding reflection shot.

it also helps you to get some cool color combinations…

Just turn on your PC or TV and set the image which you want to capture & try to capture it like this…

you can use your smartphone to capture a clear shot…

I captured all this shot using my iPhone 6 & I used my laptop screen for the images and reflections…

3. Oil + Water

If you’re creative enough during this lockdown then you must hear about Oil + Water Photography…

Currently, it’s very popular in the market, so I created a separate article on how to do Oil + Water Photography.

if you want to know more in-depth about this technique then you can read the full article on how to do Oil and Water Photography.

here’s the end result you might get…

4. Product Photography

This is the first time, I have ever tried to capture my own gadgets early in 2020, which I use every single day in my life.

yeah, it’s a little bit hard to set up everything and all but the results are so satisfying…

here are some of my favorite product images I captured during 2021-22 ( the improved version of me in product photography… )

Don’t worry, I don’t own any studio and light stuff, I just used one big piece of chart paper as a backdrop for better image combination…

5. Bulb

This is another intresting shot that I captured a couple of months ago…

but you can try this at your home during these lockdown situations.

all you need is one simple bulb, torch, and a camera that supports shutter speed.

finally, we’re making some crazy long exposure shots (hope you know about that)…

First of all, make a better distance between your camera and your object ( must check your object is sharp enough).

now you can use a tripod or any steady place where the probability of shaking your camera is very less.

and try to capture the shot.

here is the result…

here I made one mistake if I set the backdrop as black then I will get a better result, just remember this thing…

6. Miniature + Long Exposure

This is another long exposure shot that I captured, but this time I use one good backdrop…

Also, I use one object – my little friend smurf to capture this shot.

here is what I got…

Pretty awesome right?, to capture this shot I used a shutter speed of around 4-8 seconds with an ISO of 400-800.

That’s the reason we’re seeing lots of noise in the image…

If you own a better & expensive camera then you can capture better than this one, just try 🙂

7. From the Internet

This one is the last & one of my personal favorite shots which I captured via just surfing on Instagram.

Yeah, can you believe it? you can find some really creative content online very easily.

all you need to do is pick it up. your phone and keep searching until you got something amazing…

You can even follow me on Instagram & Pinterest for some creative content 🙂
